MacArthur a capella group performing at Majestic Theatre

PFC, the varsity contemporary a cappella group from MacArthur High School, has been selected to open for DCapella at the Majestic Theatre. DCappella is Disney’s highly acclaimed a cappela group who is now touring across 40 cities in North America. The group is stopping in San Antonio on January 29th at 7:00 pm. PFC was selected to open for the group after posting several videos on Instagram. For many students, this will be their first time performing in a professional theater.

“Any opportunity to see contemporary a cappella in Texas is nice, but getting to see a great group on a great stage and get to open for them is beyond our expectation,” said Matt Woodward, PFC Director. “It’s an incredible learning opportunity for our students.”

“The Majestic Theatre is a place where artists I have been awed and inspired by have performed before my very eyes,” said senior Lindsay Kutac. “The idea that I’ll be performing on the same stage, and PFC could be a group that awes and inspires others is incredible. I’m absolutely floored.”

In 2017, PFC landed in the Top 10 at the National A Cappella Convention in Memphis, TN. In 2018, they placed 3rd at the Sing! Texas a cappella competition. They have received awards for outstanding choreography, arrangements, vocal percussion, and soloists. The group is also recording its first professional a cappella recording, which is expected out this spring.
