Churchill cadet advances to National Air Rifle Championship

Churchill High School freshman Anne White is turning into one of the strongest JROTC junior marksmen in Texas. While she has only been active for a few years, she’s already a rising star in the world of competitive shooting sports.

In her first year competing at the high school level, she has racked up an impressive list of accomplishments, including leading her team to Anniston, Alabama to compete in the United States Army JROTC 3 PAR National Championships in February. White has also earned the top Air Rifle score for her age class in the state of Texas TSRA and the opportunity to compete at the Junior Olympic State Championship. This earned her an invitation to the 2019 Junior Olympics in Colorado Springs.

White also traveled to Fort Benning, Georgia, to compete in the United States Army Marksmanship Unit National Championship match. In January, she will compete in the Bexar County Match at LEE High school. She also maintains a rigorous practice schedule while competing in local and regional matches in both air rifle and small bore.
