Roosevelt JROTC give back through McKinney-Vento Homeless Project

Cadets in the Roosevelt High School JROTC program gave back through the McKinney-Vento Homeless Project. Between a donation period of Nov. 27 and Dec. 17, cadets more than doubled their original donation goal with nearly 430 donated food items.

“Considering the number of cadets in our battalion, the turnout was amazing," said cadet Ana Wilson. "I’m proud of my cadets and how the overall mission went. They were all engaged and many took charge without needing direction. I’m glad we were able to donate to families that might need a little extra help, especially over the holiday season.”

This service project allowed Roosevelt JROTC cadets a way to help others and teach the importance of giving.
