Madison students perform with University of Texas Concert Choir

The Madison High School Choir had the opportunity to perform alongside the University of Texas Concert Chorale in the Bates Recital Hall in Austin on Sunday, Nov. 11. Dr. Suzanne Pence, Choral Conductor at the University of Texas, invited the varsity choir from Madison to perform in a combined number and three additional pieces of their own.

The varsity men opened the concert with a rendition of "Ave Maria" by Himes. Next up, the Madison Chorale performed "Cool of the Day" featuring soloist Lauren DeLeon. Madison concluded their performance with an arrangement of "Lucky Luke" from Morten Vinther of the Real Group. The University Concert Chorale ended the evening with a stunning version of Jake Runestad's "Please Stay.”

The Madison High School Choir is under the direction of Edie Cooksey and Peter Cunningham.
