NEISD teachers selected for STEM camp

Two North East ISD teachers were among a select group of educators from around the state to attend Tapia Say STEM Camp at Rice University. Sponsored by ExxonMobil, Matthew Montamat from Reagan High School and Albert Chang from Roosevelt High School, joined other teachers at this prestigious professional development opportunity. The camp allowed teachers to learn from professors at Rice University and hone their skills in project-based learning instruction.

ExxonMobil sponsors Tapia Say STEM Camps, primarily a camp for high school students skilled and passionate about STEM. Through these camp sessions, the children get hands-on experience with numerous STEM projects and experiments, as well as knowledge from college professors that teach in STEM-related fields. However, the camp is not only for students. Tapia also created a session for educators which includes top-notch professional development as well as seminars on project-based learning. All camp sessions take place at the prestigious Rice University.
