Serna hosts health fair and school supply giveaway

The India Association of San Antonio sponsored the event at Serna Elementary School on Saturday, Aug. 4. Open to families in the area, the Serna community had access to free consultation from physicians, specialists, nurses and other health care providers.

In addition to the medical consultation, the India Association of San Antonio gave away food, beverages, back packs with supplies, bike helmets and clothing. District 10 Councilman Perry also stopped by to visit with community members.

“We are so grateful to the India Association for putting on this event for the Serna community,” said Serna Principal Joel Luther. “It was so exciting to see the children’s faces as they received new back packs and bike helmets. Next year we hope to add immunizations as well.”
