Robert E. Lee to host memorabilia auction

You could soon own a piece of Robert E. Lee High School memorabilia. North East ISD is giving community members an opportunity to purchase pieces of school history this month. A museum is being built on campus that will include a Robert E. Lee statue, artifacts, photos, replicas of class mosaics, and much more memorabilia. All mementos cannot be displayed in the museum, so there are more than 1,000 items that will be up for auction. Typically, items like this are recycled or disposed of – but because the District heard from so many alumni expressing interest in purchasing these types of collectibles, an online auction will take place starting on July 16, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. local time. The auctions will run through July 30, 2018, ending in batches every half hour from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. local time. Please note, the website posts times in eastern time, ET.

Items can be picked up at the NEISD General Warehouse starting July 31, 2018, Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Beginning in the 2018-2019 school year, the name of Robert E. Lee High School will be changed to Legacy of Educational Excellence High School, known as LEE.
