Lee hosts Chinese summer camp

Lee High School hosted a Chinese summer camp for incoming ninth-grade students from June 11-14. The students were given a Chinese name and practiced Chinese calligraphy. They also learned to count and play Chinese games, such as Hacky sack game, FeiLong, Chinese checkers, etc.  On June 14, they went to the San Antonio Museum of Art to view the Asia collection exhibition. The day ended with a stop at a Chinese restaurant for lunch.

This is the first language summer camp held at at Lee/ISA. The goal was to give incoming freshmen a basic introduction to Chinese language and its cultures.

Parents or students who will come to Lee/ISA/STEM/NESA for 2018-2019 fall semester and who are interested in this foreign language program, can contact the Chinese instructor Xueling Xu (xxu@neisd.net) for questions.
