NEISD’s Family Engagement Training Empowers Parents and Guardians
If it takes a village to raise a child, North East ISD’s powerful, loving village was on full display at the 23rd annual Family Engagement Training.
It’s a tradition beloved by many in our community. Hundreds of parents, grandparents, guardians and community members attended this free one-day training hosted by the NEISD Family Engagement team.
Sessions on everything from Career and Technical Education (CTE) pathways, sugar consumption, social skills, digital safety and more were offered in English and Spanish. Participants also had the opportunity to take part in a Community Resource Fair and speak with representatives from Alamo Colleges, San Antonio Water System (SAWS), NEISD Adult Education Center, and Aetna, to name a few. The San Antonio Food Bank even provided a free bag of groceries to those in attendance.
Parents were also able to pick up free books thanks to donations from Half Price Books and Scholastic.
This beloved event took months of planning, with NEISD Family Specialists collaborating with industry experts and specialists to make the most of this opportunity. By partnering with our parents, we can all help our students become successful, lifelong learners.
