The North East Educational Foundation (NEEF) successfully raised funds for Innovative Grants at the 17th annual Jerry Comalander’s Fore! The Kids Golf Tournament on Friday, Sept. 16. Like last year, the fundraiser was presented by Lifetouch.

A total of 128 players had a friendly competition at Canyon Springs Golf Club.  This year, NEEF raised more than $120,000 that will fund Innovative Grants.  “These grants give our teachers extra resources to think outside of the box and this allows them to provide different experiences to the students in the classroom,” said NEEF Golf Chair Justin Clemens.

This year's golf tournament also featured student golfers from Johnson and Reagan High School. Tournament players could pay to have a student golfer hit their shot. Players who paid to play were entered into a drawing where the winner takes half the proceeds from the game. Matt Lee from Norton Rose Fulbright won the 50/50 Hit the Green and donated his half of earnings back to NEEF!

Once again, the event featured a helicopter ball drop sponsored by Laurel Ridge Treatment Center. Three hundred numbered golf balls were dropped from a helicopter and the three golf balls that landed closest to the pin won Visa gift cards.

NEEF extends a sincere thank you to everyone who played, sponsored, volunteered, and donated.
