One of the best in Texas

Brayden and his family at the Texas PTA Back the Future Brunch

Brayden Butler is one of the best young artists in Texas.

Brayden’s painting, Thinking the Present, Imagining the Future, is one of just seven to receive the Texas PTA Outstanding Interpretation Award! The piece he created as a fifth grader at Roan Forest Elementary School was selected out of statewide visual art entries from students in grades pre-K through 12. He recently celebrated his big recognition with his family at the Texas PTA Back the Future Brunch.

Next week, Brayden will move on to sixth grade at Tex Hill Middle School. But he’ll always be a Roan Forest Trailblazer.

“I’m so proud of Brayden,” said Roan Forest Principal Chris Specia. “Each year he submits artwork for the PTA Reflections Contest. Brayden puts a lot of thought and energy into the Reflections theme. This recognition speaks to his creative talent and is a testament that hard work pays off. On behalf of the Roan Forest Community, congratulations Brayden!”

This award is more exclusive than the Overall Award of Excellence that students received for advancing to the National level. From all the entries advancing to National PTA, Texas PTA selected one entry from each arts category and one special artist to receive this prestigious award. Only seven students receive this honor each year!

Way to go, Brayden!
