“My favorite part of my classroom is that empty bulletin board.”

Starting with a clean slate.

School is back in session for kids at Castle Hills Elementary School, North East ISD’s only year-round magnet program.

Fourth-grade teacher Kaela Teh has been teaching at Castle Hills for three years.

“I feel like I am in the groove now. I am excited to get this year started and really get to know these students. They seem like they are going to be a very fun bunch.”

Back to her bulletin board.

Throughout this school year, Kaela will take pictures of her "fun bunch" in class or on field trips and fill that bulletin board with photos and memories with her students. Then, at the end of the year, each student will get to take home a few pictures to remember their time together.

“There is something special about Castle Hills because we can build strong relationships, not only because of the support system within our school, but the families are also very involved. So it makes it feel like we are all a family. And that shines through the students. So I am really looking forward to this year.”

Students who attend Castle Hills must live within six feeder school areas, live in the Castle Hills attendance zone, or apply for School Choice.
