No board does more.

The North East ISD Board of Trustees is a finalist for this year’s H-E-B Excellence in Education Award for School Leadership.

H-E-B recognizes school boards every year that excel at identifying community needs and taking specific actions based on those needs. They also look at how the board engages with their community and how students progress in the District.

"I am honored to work alongside our Board of Trustees," said Dr. Sean Maika, Superintendent of Schools. "They work tirelessly for our community allowing us to best serve our community, and are undoubtedly deserving to be named by H-E-B as one of the best school boards in Texas."

The Board will receive $5,000 for the District, just for being named a finalist. The winning school board will be announced on April 30 at a ceremony in Austin. If selected, NEISD could receive up to $25,000.
