Champions and Jaguars spread safe driving message

"I just like working with people and helping keep people safe," said Cibolo Elementary School fourth grader Eli. "I wish we could meet every Wednesday!"

Eli is one of the members of the new Cibolo Green Safety Committee. This committee was tasked with coming up with a plan to remind drivers at the campus to be safe and courteous. Members of the Johnson High School PTSA Smart Driving Club traveled to Cibolo Green Wednesday to share their mission of safe driving and to encourage the fourth graders to become safe driving advocates.

Even in fourth grade, these students know it's not safe to drive distracted. Students worked together to write out safe driving messages on poster boards. Both Jaguars and Champions teamed up during after-school pick up to share their handwritten messages with parents and classmates.

"The holidays are right around the corner and the students are such a gift and have so much to offer and the Smart Driving Club was honored to help support their safe driving efforts,” said Club Sponsor Melinda Cox.They certainly deserve to be protected passengers with a driver who puts their safety first.”

The Smart Driving Club would like to thank Cibolo Green Principal Sarah Ramirez for all of her support.
