Classroom Expectations

  1. Be Prompt: Students need to be in their seat and ready to start class when the tardy bell rings.  When work is to be turned in, please turn it in to the appropriate classroom bin in the front of the classroom before class starts.  Next, copy down the warm up and begin working on it.  Warm ups usually consist of a journal, grammar practice, or vocabulary.
  2. Be Prepared: Bring the following items to class EVERY DAY:
  • Homework
  • Paper
  • Pen/Pencil
  • Colored Pen/Pencil (red, purple, green, etc…)
  • Glue Stick
  • Scissors
  • Highlighter
  1. Be Productive: Be responsible for all of your own work.  Allow others to work undisturbed.  Listen and follow instructions.  Remain in your assigned seat and raise your hand to sharpen pencil, throw away trash, and use the recycle bin unless classroom assignment allows for movement around the room.
  2. Be Polite: EVERYONE is to be treated with respect.  This includes classmates, substitutes, parents, district and non-district visitors, yourself, and the teacher.  Gum is not allowed.  In addition, please refrain from spraying anything in the classroom.  Phones are not to be used during classroom instruction time.  Please keep them turned off or on mute.  Disrespect, disruptive behavior, inappropriateness that includes profanity will result in the Discipline Process.  Also, you will not leave the classroom until the teacher has dismissed you.  Lastly, please make sure that all trash has been disposed of appropriately.
