Lisa Thompson, Secretary

I love public schools and I am a product of public education.  I grew up in Waco, Texas and attended Midway ISD schools.  After high school I went to Texas Tech University where I met my husband, Brandon (a MAC graduate).  We have two children, Cody (Roosevelt class of 2023) and Allie.  We also have two cats.  I love to learn, travel and be with friends and family.

For the past two decades, I have been active in our NEISD community, serving as a dedicated parent, teacher, substitute, PTA President and educational coach.

I did my student teaching at Oak Meadow Elementary and my teaching career in the district spans Jackson Keller Elementary, Stone Oak Elementary, Tuscany Heights Elementary, and West Avenue Elementary. While I cherished my time in the classroom, the needs of my young family led me to redirect my focus toward volunteer work through PTA. I have served as PTA President at Elementary, Middle and High School.  

I am proud of NEISD, and I’m honored to serve our district as a Trustee. I am driven by a passion for the education of our children and the well-being of teachers and families.
