Larkspur students love that new bike feeling

Students with their new bicycles at Larkspur 2022

Twenty Larkspur Elementary School students are ready to hit the road this summer on shiny new bikes that were generously donated by Quality Custom Distribution (QCD). Jonathan Williams, a Larkspur parent, works for QCD and was one of the staff members there to hand out new bikes, helmets and bike locks to students who achieved perfect attendance this school year.

“My daughter goes to school here and the teachers and staff here have done a great job with her,” said Williams. “That’s one of the reasons I wanted to partner with them. This is just the beginning. We want to continue this partnership and look for ways to expand it in the future.”

Larkspur is one of three North East ISD elementary schools with an Extended School Year calendar. That means the last day of school for Larkspur, Jackson-Keller and Serna elementary school students is this Friday, June 24. While their school year lasts a few weeks longer than other campuses, they get more week-long breaks during the school year.
