Thousands of books available for NEISD students

While students and parents adjust to online learning, there’s an app already in place that allows students to browse thousands of audiobooks and e-books. Sora provides young readers access to more than 20,000 books in both English and Spanish on a phone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer.

North East ISD librarians are available to help students find their next favorite book. El Dorado Elementary School librarian Sarah Flores says it’s important for students to stay connected with books they can enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.

“We all know that reading helps students build their vocabulary and become strong students, but it has many other benefits,” said Flores. “And at a time like this, reading can open the world to our students. Through books, they can travel to far off places and experience things that would otherwise be impossible from inside their homes.”

Many NEISD students are used to using the Sora app to check out e-books and audiobooks. Selections range from picture books for elementary students to lengthier chapter books. The Sora app is free to download in the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.

To sign in to Sora you’ll need to search for your campus and enter the school’s setup code. If you need more information on the setup code, contact your school librarian.
