Parent Message: April 29, 2022
Dr. Sean Maika:
Through every obstacle and challenge we faced this year, our teachers have remained a constant source of love, stability and support for our students and families.
Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week. On Wednesday, we’ll celebrate our 2023 Teacher of the Year nominees.
Our teachers always find a way to show up for our kids. They arrive early or stay late to tutor students. They show up to sporting events or fine arts performances. They establish an open line of communication with parents and students. And they do it all with a positive attitude.
I want to thank every teacher in this District for once again finding a way to do it all this year. I want you to know you are appreciated and valued at NEISD.
Thank you for always finding a way to get the job done for our kids.
Now, a message from Board President Mrs. Shannon Grona.
Shannon Grona:
Thank you Dr. Maika.
Teachers, you are the bedrock of this District. When a child succeeds, I know it’s because you’re standing in their corner cheering them on.
As a longtime PTA member, I’ve spent many hours volunteering on our campuses. I’ve seen your dedication and passion for our students firsthand and I’ve seen it with my own children. You care so much about our kids and it shows. When I answered Dr. Maika’s call to volunteer during the peak of staff shortages I saw some of the challenges you faced. More importantly, I saw the way you faced them. You have shown grace, steadiness and professionalism throughout these unprecedented times.
Teaching is one of the most important professions in the world. Our community is a better place because of your heart for our students and families.
Teachers, you inspire us.

Before I wrap up, I want to remind you about the District Scorecard survey that was shared with you last week. This survey will inform four key priorities around students, staff, stakeholders, and stewardship. The NEISD Board of Trustees has drafted objectives for each priority and each objective will allow the District and you to measure success.

A través de todos los obstáculos y desafíos que enfrentamos este año, nuestros maestros han seguido siendo una fuente constante de amor, estabilidad y apoyo para nuestros estudiantes y familias.
La próxima semana es la Semana de Apreciación del Maestro. El miércoles, celebraremos a nuestros nominados a Maestro del Año 2023.
Nuestros maestros siempre encuentran una manera de presentarse por nuestros hijos. Llegan temprano o se quedan hasta tarde para tutorizar a los estudiantes. Se presentan a eventos deportivos o actuaciones de bellas artes. Establecen una línea abierta de comunicación con padres y estudiantes. Y lo hacen todo con una actitud positiva.
Quiero agradecer a todos los maestros de este Distrito por encontrar una vez más una manera de hacerlo todo este año. Quiero que sepan que son apreciados y valorados en NEISD.
Gracias por encontrar siempre una manera de hacer su trabajo para nuestros hijos.
Ahora, un mensaje de la Presidenta de la Junta de Consejo, la Sra. Shannon Grona.

Gracias Dr. Maika.
Maestros, ustedes son los cimientos de este Distrito. Cuando un niño tiene éxito, sé que es porque uno de utedes está de pie en su esquina animándolos.
Como miembro de la PTA desde hace mucho tiempo, he pasado muchas horas como voluntario en nuestras escuelas. He visto su dedicación y pasión por nuestros estudiantes de primera mano y lo he visto con mis propios hijos. Se preocupan mucho por nuestros hijos y se nota. Cuando respondí al llamado del Dr. Maika para ser voluntario durante el pico de escasez de personal, vi algunos de los desafíos que enfrentó. Más importante aún, vi la forma en que los enfrentaron. Han demostrado gracia, firmeza y profesionalismo a lo largo de estos tiempos sin precedentes.
La enseñanza es una de las profesiones más importantes del mundo. Nuestra comunidad es un lugar mejor debido a su corazón para nuestros estudiantes y familias.
Maestros, ustedes nos inspiran.

Antes de terminar, quiero recordarles sobre la encuesta de la Tarjeta de Puntuacion de Distrito que se compartió con ustedes la semana pasada. Esta encuesta informará cuatro prioridades clave en torno a los estudiantes, el personal, las partes interesadas y la administración. La Junta de Consejo de NEISD ha redactado objetivos para cada prioridad y cada objetivo permitirá que el Distrito y usted midan el éxito.
