National Volunteer Week is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate volunteers' positive impact on our communities. North East ISD wants to take this opportunity to celebrate our amazing volunteers who lend their talent, time, and voice to make a difference in our district.
Wheeler Alcala is a busy mom of two, but she’s also a member of the PTA and volunteer at Huebner Elementary School and Eisenhower Middle School. She assists with Spirit Week and helps in the classrooms. She enjoys making copies for teachers and sees it as one of the best ways she can help.
“When I am helping, I am letting the teacher use their planning time for planning or lunchtime for lunch,” said Wheeler. “Plus, I enjoy the friendships I have developed with other volunteers and the staff.”
