Oak Meadow Elementary School students recently spent time thanking their Campus Safety Specialist David Webber for making them feel safe.

They made him an encouraging sign, offered high-fives and hugs and wrote him several thank you notes. Here are just a few of the things they wanted to make sure he knew.

“Dear Mr. Webber,

Thank you for protecting our school and everyone in it.

You are so brave and protect us from danger.

Thank you for always smiling at us.

Thank you for protecting our school. Sometimes it might be boring but please continue to protect our school.

P.S. Thank you for being brave.”

Thank you, Mr. Webber, for all do you for our students. From making them feel safe to offering them a high-five and a smile, you are making a difference #theNEISDway

Our Safety Specialist position fulfills the House Bill 3 requirement that an armed security officer is present at each campus. They are stationed at our elementary schools and are solely focused on security. They monitor school grounds, ensure doors are locked, security cameras are working, and fencing and parking lots are secure. They also lead safety drills and training.
