Poster contest inspires students to 'Grow With World Languages'

Ashley and Elle hold their 2023 poster designs

March is World Language Month. For the second year in a row, the North East ISD World Languages Department held a poster contest to inspire students to create and inspire #theNEISDway.

The prompt for the 2023 poster contest was ‘Grow With World Languages.’ There were more than 130 entries from middle and high school students across our District.

Two overall winners were ultimately chosen, along with four finalists.

MacArthur High School sophomore Ashley Castillo won the digital art poster contest with her vibrant design. She was surprised in class with a certificate and her own framed poster.

Reagan High School sophomore Elle Higgs, our second winner, was also surprised with a framed portrait of her original painting and a certificate.

Congratulations to Ashley and Elle!

Join us in congratulating our poster contest winners and finalists:

Winners: Ashley Castillo (MacArthur) and Elle Higgs (Reagan)

Finalists: Jenevieve Hernandez (MacArthur), Yanessa Bermudez (MacArthur), Estelle Vargas (Garner Middle School) and Michela Chen (Lopez Middle School)
