Tracy Kottman

Dear parents, guardians, teachers, and staff of Las Lomas Elementary School,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce myself as the Assistant Principal of Las Lomas Elementary. I am honored and most appreciative to work in a community that values the importance of relationship building and am looking forward to meeting (or re-connecting) with each and every member of our pride. The Las Lomas Lions have celebrated MANY successes in the past seven years and I am thrilled to be a part of all the critical thinking, relationship building and leadership development that happens daily, in our classrooms and throughout our AMAZING school!

Although this is my second year at Las Lomas Elementary, I am a life-long educator with a passion for serving others. This is my 24th year in education and my 6th year working as an elementary administrator. During my journey through education, I have taught self-contained 2nd and 4th grade and 7th grade reading. I have also served as a Title I Campus Curriculum Specialist, K-5 Gifted/Talented Teacher, K-5 Reading Intervention/Dyslexia Teacher, Elementary Assistant Principal and Elementary Principal. Throughout my career, I have worked in 4 Texas school districts, but I am most proud to be part of the NEISD family; the one that I call HOME!

As an educator and your Assistant Principal, I believe it is my duty to maintain a safe and risk-free environment where all children can think critically, lead responsibly and learn passionately.  I believe that EVERY child wants to feel loved, be encouraged and have the tools necessary for recognizing, developing and achieving their own personal goals.

Because EVERY lion cub has great potential within their own unique story, I am grateful for the support and help from our OUTSTANDING pride of parents, teachers, staff and community members!

If I can answer any questions or be of assistance at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me. I am truly proud of our pride and am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Tracy Kottman, Assistant Principal
