Brycen spent hundreds of hours studying and practicing for the OSCP exam. This ethical hacking certification is extremely difficult. His hard work paid off in a big way.
“It’s a hacking certification so it helps a lot for really any cybersecurity job – but penetration testing jobs is what it’s really meant for.”
During the exam, Brycen was tasked with successfully attacking and penetrating various live machines in a safe lab environment. The fact that Brycen passed the test at the age of 15 is impressive enough. But he also has two other certifications under his belt thanks to iCSI.
“Last year, I got the ITF+ and this year I got the Network+ so both iCSI certifications so far, I have,” said Brycen. “I’m glad I have the OSCP, but I want to keep going. So, I think I’m ahead of the game now and I want to stay ahead.”
CompTIA IT Fundamentals (ITF+) is an examination covering basic IT knowledge and skills. A Network+ certification means Brycen can manage, maintain, troubleshoot, install, and configure basic computer networks.
iCSI is not only preparing Brycen for a career in an in demand-industry – it also provided him the opportunity for a paid internship this summer with CPS Energy.
