When the District closed due to a severe winter storm, Zachary wanted to make sure his students at Nimitz Middle School were okay. He reached out to them only to learn that many were not. He set up a Go Fund Me page, and with the help of fellow employees and community members, they raised more than $2,000. That money helped pay for hotel rooms for families, it also helped pay for clothes, supplies and groceries. It took a lot of coordination and leg work on his part, because not only did he help raise the money, he also took families shopping himself and went directly to the hotels to pay the bills. He also made sure to follow up afterward to make sure everyone was still doing okay. While Coach Clark is a phenomenal teacher, he knows his role doesn’t stop there. And if he can help, he wants to.
