Sandy Winkley, Vice President


"I know first-hand how North East ISD helps shape lives and makes a positive impact on each and every student.  Having raised two children in NEISD, I recognize the District's desire to ensure that every child becomes a success, no matter what they want to do after high school.  I am so fortunate to be a part of the NEISD community, and I look forward to contributing to the long-standing history of excellence our District is known for."


Sandy was elected to the NEISD Board of Trustees in 2018.  This is her first term.

She and her husband David have volunteered with numerous organizations in and around NEISD.  Mrs. Winkley and David served as the 50th Anniversary Liaisons for Charger Sports Association.

Sandy has held several PTA committee chair and officer positions at Thousand Oaks Elementary, Bradley Middle School, and Churchill High School.  She served as Secretary for the 2017-2018 CSA Board and as Cross Country Parent Representative for the last three years.  She held both 1st Vice President and President positions at Churchill PTA.  Mrs. Winkley is also a parent sponsor for the Churchill Unity Club.

Mrs. Winkley is a recipient of the Superintendent's Award, the Texas Life Membership Award, and the Texas PTA Extended Service Award.

She has sat on CIC committees for both Bradley and Churchill, and has recently served on the DEIC Committee for NEISD.

She attended Serna Elementary, Garner Middle School, and MacArthur High School.  Their daughter, Sofia, graduated from Churchill High School in 2016 and is a junior at The Barrett Honors College at Arizona State University.  Their son, David, will graduate from Churchill High School, June 2018, and will be joining his sister at Arizona State this fall.

She and David have been married for 23 years.

Mrs. Winkley has recently returned to the workforce after 19 years at home.  She is employed at ATKG, LLP, a San Antonio CPA Firm.
