These innovative teachers at Regency Place Elementary School volunteered to participate in the school’s inaugural Academic Parent Teacher Team, in place of traditional parent-teacher conferences. The concept is that students thrive when families and teachers work together as genuine partners. These teachers engaged in a collaborative process to build relationships with students’ families and empower the families to make contributions to student growth and achievement. They provided learning activities for children while parents met with teachers. And the instructional coaches, Intervention teachers, counselor, family specialist, and librarian provided support for the teams in preparing materials, activities, meals, and logistics. Everyone came together in such a phenomenal way.
