Nicole Sosa accepting award

Nicole is the clinic assistant at Wetmore Elementary School. One day earlier this school year, she was helping load students into parents' cars at dismissal time, when a student in line began choking on a plastic candy wrapper. She acted immediately and saved the student by successfully performing the Heimlich maneuver. The child’s parents were notified, and the student made it home safe and sound. This is another example of being in the right place at the right time, remaining calm and knowing what to do. It is also why training is such a priority for all our staff.
