If your child has a passion for storytelling, dance, acting or music, join us next Wednesday at our Night with NESA event to see everything our fine arts magnet has to offer. 

The North East School of the Arts is a revolutionary program that opened in 1996. More than 25 years later, it continues to attract the highest-caliber students and instructors who share the same passion for the arts.  

Students like Jared Howelton, who made his Broadway debut this summer in the hit musical Hamilton. His former NESA teachers flew up to New York to watch him perform. 

Jessie Saltzman was a Technical Theater major at NESA. Today, she works alongside some of the top stage artists in the world at the Public Theater in New York City.

Our students can choose between majors in Cinema, Creative Writing, Dance, Instrumental Music, Musical Theater, Technical Theater or Visual Arts. Our instructors are masters at their craft who offer an array of industry experience, connections and training. If NESA seems like a fit for your child, join us for student performances, a facility tour and more starting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, November, 16, in the Performing Arts Center at LEE High School.

You and your family are also invited to our College and Career Expo next Wednesday. Representatives from colleges, universities and businesses with career opportunities will be available for you to ask questions, gather information and weigh your options. You can also learn more about the many choices you have at NEISD, like our magnet programs, Career and Technical Education courses, and our AVID program. 

This event isn’t just for our high school students. Families with children of all ages are welcome. Join us in Expo Hall 2 at Freeman Coliseum on Wednesday, November 16, from 5:30 – 8:00 p.m. Two shuttle buses will also take families to Freeman Coliseum. Before I wrap up, I want to take a moment to thank our veterans for their service and sacrifice. You may have spent your morning being honored at one of our campus Veterans Day events. I hope you feel celebrated by our students, staff and community. You have our thanks and gratitude.
