Sara Morgan and Hazel
Sara and her therapy dog Hazel inspire students at Thousand Oaks Elementary School. Four years ago, they began by helping to encourage military-connected students. Since then, they have become a campus favorite and visit students schoolwide nearly every other week. Hazel even visited with one of the school’s third graders who was in the hospital recently. This year, Hazel joined the Pet Partners campaign “Pet of the Year” to help raise funds for the awareness and training of therapy animals. After a photo op fundraiser with Hazel, students were able to raise more than $2,100 for Pet Partners. Most importantly, with the love and support of Hazel, our students were able to use their voice to make a difference in the world, one paw at a time.
