When the pandemic put a halt to parental involvement in schools last year, PTA presidents were invited to serve a third year and Lucy Reyna took on the challenge at Castle Hills Elementary School. In spite of the roadblocks last year, she continued to hold monthly Executive Board meetings, General PTA meetings, and Family Fun Nights via ZOOM. She was even the game show host for Family Game Night competitions. She never gave up. She found donors for a school sponsored T-shirt that every student could get for free. And in August, the school’s PTA Fun Run raised $77,000 with a student population of 475 students thanks to her efforts. She is a dedicated parent volunteer who always goes the extra mile.
