Intern/Practicum

For External Candidates to be considered for placement, complete the following by the Program Timelines:

To be considered for an internship/practicum placement, a student must meet and complete the following:

NOTE: Any student requesting an internship to complete more than 120 hours will be required to attend a Student Teacher/Intern Orientation (see dates listed on the Program Timelines webpage). Detailed information on the orientation will be provided by the District Coordinator.

 

For Current NEISD Employees to be considered for placement, complete the following by the Program Timelines:

  • Notify immediate supervisor of request

  • Follow guidelines below for NEISD employees seeking placement:

    1. Employees of NEISD requesting to complete an internship, student observer and/or field experience placement are expected to adhere to a normal work schedule and perform their duties and responsibilities in accordance with their job assignments.
    2. Interns, student observers and/or field experience students employed by the district will not be "released" to fulfill program requirements. It will be incumbent upon the student to arrange personal time, outside of the regular work day, to complete placement requirements.
