Johnson Orchestra Students Accepted into the National Youth Orchestra Summer Program
Conratulations to Dylan Fernandez de lara, senior, and Eli Canales, junior, from Johnson High School for being accepted into the National Youth Orchestra summer program. NYO is a prestigious and very selective program where students from around the nation audition to come together and perform under master conductors. Each summer, Carnegie Hall's Weill Music Institute (WMI) brings together the brightest young players from across the country to form the National Youth Orchestra, a free program for all participants. Following a comprehensive audition process and a three-week training residency with leading professional orchestra musicians, these remarkable teenagers embark on a tour to some of the great music capitals of the world while serving as dynamic music ambassadors. Dylan, a violinist, will be making his second apearance with the National Youth Orchestra. Last year, Dylan performed with the NYO2. Eli, a trombonist, will have that honor and a first time experience with NYO2.
