Key dates for the 2023 Legislative session

On January 10, 2023, the 88th Legislature will convene at noon in Austin, Texas. This marks the beginning of a 140-day session where Texas senators and representatives will convene to file, discuss and pass legislation. The 88th session will end on May 29, 2023, also known as Sine die.

Legislators and legislators-elect will begin filing bills on November 14, 2022 until the 60-day deadline on March 10, 2023.
