Eisenhower Generals lead NEISD board meeting

Eisenhower Students at November 2024 board meeting

Two exceptional Eisenhower Middle School students helped kick off the November regular board meeting for North East ISD.

Proud Eisenhower principal, Jason Herrera, introduced Jackson Thomas and Alexandra Sweeney. Jackson led the meeting with a heartfelt invocation and Alexandra led the pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags.

Jackson, an eighth grader, excels in and out of the classroom. He has already earned four high school credits and is in the process of earning two more this year. Jackson is the National Junior Honor Society treasurer, a member of Jr. PALS, and plays on the football, basketball, track and soccer teams. He was joined by his parents Madden and Charity Thomas.

Alexandra is another stand-out student and is active in athletics, fine arts and academics. She plays volleyball, is a member of the Jr. PALS and the Eisenhower Varsity Girls Choir. She recently qualified for UIL Region Choir and auditioned for the Organization of American Kodaly Educators (OAKE) national choir. She’s one of seven IKE students to make the national choir and she will have the opportunity to perform in Chicago in the spring of 2025 with world-renowned conductors and other middle schoolers from around the country.

Alexandra was joined by her mother, Cecilia Centeno, and her grandmother, Maria Marquez.

Great job, Jackson and Alexandra!
