May 25, 2022 - A4LE Presentation/Tour - Bill Walker Natatorium

A4LE Presentation at Piper-Bass, North East ISD, San Antonio, TexasOn May 25, 2022, the South Texas Chapter of the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) held a lunch and presentation at the North East ISD Piper-Bass Memorial Student Center followed by a tour of the Bill Walker Natatorium. The Presenters were Gary Sullivan from North East ISD, and Greg Houston and Shawn Bacon from Marmon Mok Architecture. David Johnson, North East ISD Director of Aquatics, led the tour.

The North East ISD 2015 Bond Program included funding to replace the BAC Walker Pool Facility, and the construction was completed in 2019. Read more about the North East Aquatic Center.

The Association for Learning Environments is a professional non-profit association whose sole mission is improving the places where children learn. The Association for Learning Environments believes that: Facilities impact the learning, development, and behavior of the facility user and that the design planning process is essential for quality facilities. Sharing and networking improves the planning process and there is a standard by which to measure great learning facilities.

The Association for Learning Environments is the primary advocate and resource for effective educational facilities and serves those who use, plan, design, construct, maintain, equip, and operate educational facilities. Finally, the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE) is the advocate for excellence in student learning environments.
