On May 8, 2023, the Board of Trustees approved the adoption of the Choosing the Best program for instruction in Human Sexuality and Abstinence Education (HSAE) and Abuse/Violence Prevention for middle school and high school.  However, the approval was contingent upon edits made under the direction of the School Health Advisory Council (SHAC) with approval by the Board of Trustees.

Permission slips will be sent home at least 14 days prior to the start of instruction and will include information on Parent Preview meetings. See timeline and sample permission slips below.

Original publisher print materials for Choosing the Best Life (without SHAC recommended edits) are currently available for parents to preview at North East Sports Park during regular business hours. Once final edits are approved, print materials will be available for review on all secondary campuses.
