My student is a foster child, homeless, migrant, runaway or participates in Head Start. Does this special status automatically qualify children for free meals?

A student whose participation in one of these programs is certified by the school qualifies for free meals regardless of their household's income. You must contact the child's school and turn in the paperwork necessary to qualify. Only the child(ren) certified by the school will be eligible for free meals based on their special program status.
