NEISD student named Presidential Scholar Semifinalist

Tristan iCSIRoosevelt High School Senior Tristan Lee is an impressive student.

He’s enrolled in Roosevelt’s Engineering and Technology Academy (ETA).

He’s an Executive Officer in JROTC.

He’s a Mayor’s Cyber Cup winner.

He’s a leader in every sense of the word.

And now, he’s been named a semifinalist for the 2022 Presidential Scholars Program.

“When I first learned I was selected as a U.S. Presidential Scholar semifinalist, I was proud and grateful,” said Tristan.  “I was grateful for my teachers, such as Mr.Femmel, my eighth grade English teacher, and Mr.Beck, my instructor at the Institute of CyberSecurity and Innovation, both of whom helped me get where I am today. But, at the same time, I was proud because Career and Technical Education is all about opportunity, and I am proud that I could take part in programs during my high school career that attracts national attention.”

This year, less than 650 semifinalists were named, whittled down from more than 5,000 candidates.

Tristan will find out if he is named a Presidential Scholar in May.

Congratulations Tristan!
