National Signing Day Ceremony Guidelines

NORTH EAST ISD SIGNING DAY CEREMONY GUIDELINES 

  1. A student athlete must complete the season with the team and be in good standing. 
  1. A student must have competed in and completed his/her high school career in the sport signing. 
  1. The head coach of the sport must have proof of an agreement whether signing to a Service Academy, NLI/Financial Aid Agreement to an NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA Institution.
    1. Only student-athletes who have received a commitment from a university (DIV. I, II, III, NAIA, JUCO) to participate in athletics on or before the signing date will be allowed to participate in the signing ceremony.
    2. DIVISION III ATHLETES MAY SIGN A CELEBRATORY SIGNING FORM AS OUTLINED BY THE NCAA- (Division III institutions are permitted to use a standard, NCAA provided, non-binding celebratory signing form. A prospective student-athlete is permitted to sign the celebratory signing form at any point, including high school signing events, after the prospective student- athlete has been accepted to the institution.) 

4.  A student athlete who participates in a non-UIL sport and will sign a NLI for a sport not offered at the high school may take part in the campus signing ceremony as long as they have met any of the criteria in items #1, 2, or 3. (ex: gymnastics)

5. A student who is recognized as a preferred walk-on must have an official letter of other type or communication to participate in the school ceremony.
