Welcome, Dawn Haberthur! Mrs. Haberthur will be joining our 5th grade team.

"I have been part of NEISD for 16 years. I previously taught fourth and fifth grade for eleven years, spent three years as a math coach, two years as a district math specialist, and then my heart called me back to the classroom.

I have been married for 31 years to my wonderful husband, Chuck. We have two children, Allison and Brandon, and we also have a daughter-in-law, Piper. We are proud owners of a dachshund mix rescue dog named Honey. I like to read, walk, fish, go to the beach, watch Flea Market Flip, and spend time with family and friends. I am looking forward to my first year at Castle Hills. I love to learn, and I love to teach!"

Mrs. Haberthur's educational background includes a degree in Marketing Management from the University of Northern Iowa and a teaching certificate from Texas State, San Marcos. She is certified EC-4 and 4-8 Generalist, ESL, and has a Masters of Education in Educational Administration.

Welcome, Kaela Teh! Mrs. Teh will be joining our 4th grade team.

“I recently moved to San Antonio from Corpus Christi. While in Corpus Christi, I completed my Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi where I graduated Summa Cum Laude. I served as the treasurer of Student Reading Council, a member of Kappa Delta Pi, and as co-coordinator and student researcher for a literacy tutoring program.

I was born and raised in Abilene, TX where I met my husband. My husband and I have been together for 7 years and married nearly 2. We were high school sweethearts! We have two shih-tzus and a cat. In my free time, I love reading, art, and spending time with my husband.

My time in university allowed me to gain experience from kindergarten through sixth grade but I can confidently say I’ve loved them all. I currently am certified EC-6 generalist and ESL, however, I’m excited to pursue my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction very soon.

I want to thank everyone for welcoming me to NEISD and the Castle Hills family. I look forward to meeting everyone and beginning our school year!"

Welcome, Rachel Lilley! Ms. Lilley will be joining our 5th grade team.

"I love baking, being outside, reading and playing with my dogs! In the classroom, my educational goal is to create a community of students who are hungry for more knowledge and want to continue to learn. Personally, my educational goal is to go back and get my Master's degree in Special Education. I feel like I should mention that I'm getting married August 1st, so I won't be Ms. Lilley for very long!"

Ms. Lilley is a recent graduate of Howard Payne University, Brownwood, Texas. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education, is a member of Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, and was on the President's List in Fall 2019. While in college, she worked in two tutoring programs, the Crazy 8’s math program at the Brownwood Public Library and was an ACE tutor in Early ISD, where she worked with grades 3-5 in all subject areas.

Kiersten Jones is a first grade teacher.

Welcome, Kiersten Jones! Mrs. Jones will be joining our first grade team.

"A born and raised central Texan, I graduated from Texas Tech University in 2017 with a degree in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in Human Resource Management. Working in the coporate world for a time, it didn't take me long to realize I had a greater passion and calling - teaching the next generation! I have my certification in EC-6 as well as my ESL supplemental.

When I'm not at school, you might spot me at a local coffee shop or hiking trail with my husband Sam and our cuddly pup, Duke. I love trying new recipes, baking sweet treats, thrift shopping, and photography.

I am so excited to be part of the first grade team at Castle Hills this year! My hope is that each child is challenged and encouraged to reach their fullest potential during their time in my classroom. See you all very soon!
