Speech and debate students rack up state awards

Students from Churchill, Johnson and Reagan high schools brought home several state speech and debate awards at the 2022 Texas Forensic Association State Meet. This three-day contest began with preliminary rounds featuring students across Texas. As the competition progressed, contestants were narrowed down through elimination rounds until the top six speech and debate students faced off in the final round.

Emma Abbott - State Champion in Prose

Cana Blanton – Policy Debate Quarterfinalist and 9th Best Speaker

Natalie Stone – Policy Debate Quarterfinalist and 10th Best Speaker

Claire Davis – Policy Debate Octafinalist

Brook King – Policy Debate Octafinalist
