Senior Spotlight: Churchill's Levi Castilleja

Levi Castilleja is proud of his time at Churchill High School.

He’s a catcher on the Varsity baseball team, he’s made the All-Academic first team and All-District first team and is graduating Summa Cum Laude.

That last one was important to his mother.

“My mom passed away in January. She wanted me to be nice to everyone and wanted me to graduate Summa.”

So, he is friendly and reaches out to people sitting alone at lunch.

And he made sure to graduate with Summa honors.

Levi with his teacher

He recognized his English teacher Wyndi Charlton.

“She was my first class of the day, and she always asked me how my day was and was always there for me. I would have never looked forward to online school if it wasn’t for her and her kindness. She helped me experience a genuine teacher-student relationship. I cannot thank her enough for her generosity.”

Levi is headed to Wharton Junior College to play baseball but hopes to move on to a D1 school to play baseball in the future.

Congratulations, Levi and the rest of the class of 2022.
