Bernard Rosenberg and Shawna Lien are exemplary band directors. The Tejeda Middle School students, staff and parents already know this. Now, all of Texas knows it too.
The Texas Bandmasters Association (TBA) selects one middle school band a year to recognize as an Exemplary Middle School Band. It’s a great honor, and in 2022 the great honor goes to Rosenberg and Lien at Tejeda.
“The Tejeda Band has been a consistent example of excellence over a long period and has developed that reputation under the consistent leadership of Director Bernard Rosenberg and Shawna Lien,” said TBA President Roland Sandoval. “The Tejeda Middle School Band is truly one of the most outstanding middle school band programs in Texas.”
Both Rosenberg and Lien were recognized for their achievement at a recent Tejeda faculty meeting by North East ISD’s Executive Director of Fine Arts Julie Shore.
The TBA will present the program with its official award at its annual convention in July.
