Senior Spotlight: Madison’s Hailey Hunt

“I’m in the Agriscience Magnet Program where I raise Guide Dogs for the Blind and raise market sheep as well,” said Madison High School senior Hailey Hunt.

Hailey has made the most of her time in the Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP). She has experienced many memorable “last firsts” during her senior year at Madison. While she’s excited about the future, she already misses her time in AMP.

“My senior year has kind of been a rollercoaster for me,” said Hailey. “All the excitement of these ‘last firsts’ but not thinking about the last part. The agriculture program has been a big part of my life.”

Hailey is a Summa Cum Laude graduate, meaning she’ll graduate with a 100+ grade point average. In addition to raising market sheep and training a dog in the Guide Dogs for the Blind program, Hailey was a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) and the award-winning AMP Marketing Team.

In May, she’ll walk the stage with her FFA cords and prepare to start college at Tarleton State University, where she’ll major in Ag Business and minor in Ag Communications.

The future is bright for Hailey, and she had the perfect precursor for success in AMP. Raising and showing animals comes with so many valuable skills, including presentation, communication and dedication.

“It’s definitely prepared me to get out of my shell. I’m not nervous talking in front of people in large crowds.”

Congratulations Hailey! Good luck to you and the rest of the Class of 2022.
