NEISD students win big in San Antonio Mayor's competition
Congratulations to our STEM and SETA teams!
Students from our Space and Engineering Technologies Academy (SETA) and STEM Middle School at Nimitz represented North East ISD well in this year’s SA SMART Mayor’s Smart City Challenge.
Seven of the 10 middle school team finalists came from our two schools!
STEM Middle School’s Concret’adors took 1st place with the idea of creating more green space downtown using rooftops. They created and tested different concrete additives to see what would hold up best over time and under the weight of the green space.
SETA Team 2 won 2nd place.
STEM Middle School’s Water Safety for San Antonio Team won 3rd place.
SETA Team 4 won the Hitish Nathani Resourcefulness Award.
It was an incredible experience and a fantastic showing by our students who swept the competition #theNEISDway.
