Madison sets new Peanut Butter Bowl record

Madison High School won the 2021 Peanut Butter Bowl challenge by bringing in a new record donation of 5,815 jars of peanut butter. Madison Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach Blaine Pederson says the record-setting donation drive was a total community effort. Two elementary schools, in particular, showed up to support this meaningful cause in a big way.

“I want to say thank you to all the faculty members and students at both Northern Hills and Steubing Ranch for their donations and all of their hard work in helping Madison High School win the 2021 Peanut Butter Bowl,” said Pederson. “Thank you to Principals Marisa Wulfsburg (Northern Hills) and Mario Guillen (Steubing Ranch) for working with us and supporting this great cause.  And Amanda Gillespie at Northern Hills did a spectacular job of spearheading the peanut butter drive at Northern Hills. These two schools absolutely crushed it.”

Harris and Wood Middle School athletic departments, as well as Madison High School Spirit groups and Band members, also donated peanut butter. Every jar collected through the citywide competition was donated to organizations that help feed hungry families across San Antonio.
