NEISD student vote determines Friday’s lunch entrée

Wilshire students cast their votes during lunch

Chicken nuggets or steak fingers?

Pineapple or jalapeños on pizza?

North East ISD students got to cast their vote on a special menu item in the cafeteria during lunch on Friday. Elementary students chose between chicken nuggets or steak fingers, while secondary students opted for pineapple or jalapeno on pizza.

Once students made up their minds, they dropped a milk straw into the can labeled with the ‘candidate’ of their choice. The winning entrée for each campus will be served during lunch on Friday, November 8.

It was a tough call at Wilshire Elementary School, where students were torn between chicken nuggets or steak fingers. Eventually, chicken nuggets took the lead.

Thank you to our School Nutrition Services Department for finding fun ways to teach our kids about the democratic process and making choices!
