NEISD plumbers “adopt” special family for the holidays

The crew that makes up the North East ISD Plumbing Shop is always ready to lend a hand, or a wrench, no matter the season. This year, the group wanted to provide support to a family who could use a little extra cheer this holiday season. Irvin Grosscup has been a plumber for the District for more than 15 years. After speaking with his wife Lisa, a second grade teacher at Camelot Elementary School, he rallied the Plumbing Shop to “adopt” and sponsor a Camelot family for the holidays.

“When I came to them about adopting a family these guys went above and beyond to get everything they needed and then some,” said Grosscup. “We’re fortunate enough to give back, and we hope it makes a difference.”

Camelot Family Specialist Landy Rodriguez selected a family and relayed a gift wish list to the plumbers, who provided shoes, toys and gift cards for every member of the family.

NEISD Maintenance crews play a key role in keeping every campus operational and safe. They are on call 24 hours a day and don’t leave until the job is done. Thank you for giving back #theNEISDway!
