Mrs. Naomi Miller

I am so excited to be a returning Churchill Charger this year (this is my 7th year at Churchill)!  Their dedication to excellence is something that I hope to mirror in my classroom.  Excellence doesn't come easy; it comes through only after hard work--usually quite a bit of hard work.  As a mother of two preemies, I understand that in order to achieve goals, reaching each milestone is critical.  I also know that reaching each milestone does not happen at the same rate for every child.

Just like my sons' journeys, my educational "milestones" were accomplished through a lot of hard work.  I received an Associates in Art in English through San Antonio College.  I continued my academic journey by earning both my Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in English through the University of Texas at San Antonio.

I began my teaching career while I was an undergraduate by teaching toddlers (specifically 1 year-olds), and once I received my M. A. degree, I taught toddlers by day, and college students in the evenings at Northwest Vista College.  Since then, I have taught high school for four years at my previous campus, three of which were spent teaching dual credit English classes through Coastal Bend College.  This is my seventh year at Churchill High School.

I am thrilled to teach at Churchill!  My goal is to be the kind of teacher I would want for my sons.  With that in mind, I keep an up-to-date list of assignments in Google Classroom with links of all assignments for that grading period so that my students and their families can get information about the work that is recorded in Skyward.  I also try to make sure that they are academically successful, so I make sure that my grades are updated each week so that parents who are like me can also help their children in this academic journey.  Feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns you might have (Please make sure that you include your child's name in the email/text message).
